about us

The MultiKultiChor ("MultiCultural Choir") Bonn was established in autumn of 2001 and has become a registered non-profit society in 2003. The founding members wanted to create a space in which people from different cultures living in Bonn and its surrounding area could meet and share songs from around the world - music as a way to international understanding!

We are people of different ages from Germany and many other nations and we meet once a week to sing together. The repertoire of the MultiKultiChor Bonn includes traditional as well as modern music preferably performed in four-part settings for mixed voices in the original language. It is the choir's declared aim to sing a song from the home country of each of its members.

Our greatest highlights were concert tours to foreign countries: a concert tour to Crete in 2005, to Poland in 2008, to Alsace in 2009, to Slowenia in 2012, to Belgium in 2013 and to Ireland in 2017. In 2006 we participated an International Choir Festival in Prague and in 2015 we took part in the Festival Internacional de Cant Coral de Barcelona. The focus always was to meet local and international choirs, respectively, singing and performing together.

Since April 2016 Stanislaw Hajda has been the conducter of the MultiKultiChor Bonn.

The MultiKultiChor is open for everybody and new members are very welcome. We are looking forward to integrate especially new members with a migration background who live here and who would enjoy to sing in a multicultural community. Moreover we are looking forward to strengthen our tenor and bass sections with new members.
